In 2008, guitarist Max Engvik and former vocalist Christoffer Skogen laid the foundation for Astaroth. Over the years, the band evolved, and in 2009, Andreas Wærholm, Carl Engstrøm, and Øyvind Kvalvaag joined the ranks. The culmination of their sonic journey materialized in the autumn of 2009 with the recording of "Chaosatanas." However, complications ensued, leading to delays. After a lineup change and vocal re-recording, the album was primed for release in late 2013.
